About Antique Teddy Bear Crossing

My name is Lynn Capizzo, a true arctophile.  As a long time antique dealer and collector, I had a natural progression to antique teddy bears. When I found my antique niche, I was determined to learn as much as possible about the old fellas. I've spent years now researching, reading and talking to bear experts, learning as much as I could. American bears, German bears, bears of British origin, Steiff, Bing, Ideal, Schuco, Hermann, Knickerbocker, Merrythought..so many wonderful early bear manufacturers. Of course, collecting teddy bears led to all of the fun things to go along with them - antique child size and doll size furniture, antique and vintage clothes and accessories to dress them up. My teddy bears needed toys to play with, so I was on a mission to find antique toys. All bear collectors love the quality of Steiff and soon Steiff animals crept into my collection. Golliwogs and Raggedy dolls are natural teddy bear friends, and of course I sought after the old ones. My bears needed to be educated, so the wonderful early bear books were a treasure to both me and my grandchildren. The collecting list goes on and on.
I've been selling my bears at select antique shows for several years now, but am now sharing them with the world. I hope you enjoy this website as much as I've enjoyed putting it together.
