Antique Teddy Bears
Offered here are antique teddy bears from the early 1900's through 1940's. All old bears have been left in pretty much as found condition, except for thoroughly cleaning and debugging each one. I love each and every one as they are, imperfections and all. All of their imperfections will be clearly noted and many pictures are available. Of course, all questions are encouraged. Since I feel bears should be seen and touched and held and talked to, your satisfaction is guaranteed, no questions asked. All props are for display only and are not included in the sale of the teddy bear.

"PERCIVAL" ANTIQUE AMERICAN TEDDY BEAR
ON LAYAWAY Percival is an American boy, I'm guessing from the 1920's. He has short golden mohair which is still quite full, a few bare spots here and there and a few spots of general thinning, but still very full coverage. He's been standing so long...he wouldn't even know how to sit! He likes standing because he has no leg joints, only jointed at his arms. He is firmly stuffed with excelsior as you can plainly see on his hands, which have pretty much completely lost their felt pads. But his felt feet pads are still intact. He has a little trouble with his ankle as he's been standing for 80+ years, kind of folds in on itself. He...

'ARTHUR' EARLY ANTIQUE STICK BEAR
Arthur has had a hard life, but he's not complaining as he's been soooo loved. Loved from head to foot, but he's very proud of his loved appearance. He's missing lots of mohair, but his back side has quite a bit to still keep him warm. His pads have been lovingly mended over the years and one of his legs has a little arthritis, doesn't move so well. That's actually because it was sewed down long ago. I decided to leave it as he still can sit nicely. The rest of his joints work well. There's a small hole in the fabric next to his nose with general thinning of the fabric there and one of his ears has been sewn back on, ear is original. His excelsior stuffing has settled, love the way it gives him a little pot belly. He...

'BART' ANTIQUE EARLY TEDDY BEAR ON WHEELS
'Bart' is an early bear on wheels, probably German, circa 1910's. He is made from very short mohair, charcoal brown in color, about 80% coverage. He is attached to a metal frame with wheels. He has a cute little expression, made with black floss, some nose stitching missing, and glass eyes that are probably not original. He measures 12" long. His frame is a tad bent, but still in good condition with wheels turning well. I'm sure he was originally more upright, but over the years he has slumped forward.

'BERNARD' BRITISH ANTIQUE TEDDY BEAR CIRCA 1910'S
'Bernard' is such a distinguished, grand looking fella. He is a British bear, circa 1910's. He has such an unusual looking face with sloping cone nose, little tiny glass eyes, linen nose and I love the way he's smiling. He's a stocky boy and measures 23" tall, is firmly stuffed with excelsior, and has a nice large hump. His beautiful mohair is a light cinnamon color and he retains about 93% of his mohair with just general thinning throughout. He has felt paw and foot pads, which I believe have been replaced & five embroidered claws on each paw.

Felt pads are original, however, thinning and holes in all paws. She has set in ears and is excelsior stuffed throughout. 'BRUNO' ANTIQUE AMERICAN TEDDY BEAR
Bruno is quite the stocky boy. I just love his husky body and short little arms and legs. He proudly stands 15" tall and is fully jointed. His beige mohair is in great condition with about 96% coverage, just a little thinning here and there. I'm not sure what his origin is, but I'm thinking he's an American bear from the 1930's. He has such an endearing face with big glass eyes and brown floss nose and mouth. His felt paw and foot pads are all original, with holes in the foot pads, one large one showing the excelsior, and thinning to the paw pads. He is firmly stuffed throughout with excelsior. He has one small dark spot on his chest and front side mohair fading. His growler does not usually work, but if you tip him and playfully shake him, he likes to talk just a little.

'FRANZ' LONG TIPPED MOHAIR ANTIQUE TEDDY BEAR
Franz has such a gorgeous gold mohair coat, lighter tipped at the ends. He retains virtually 100% of his beautiful mohair. He has tapering arms, which makes me wonder if he's a French boy, also tall and skinny, stands 14" tall. He has painted glass eyes and embroidered nose, mouth and claws, and is fully jointed. His pads are original felt, holes in three pads, two of them large, exposing his excelsior stuffing. He is excelsior stuffed throughout, very firm. A wonderful expressive boy. Fritz is a German teddy bear, born in the 1920's to 1930's. I love his quirky little smile, a little lopsided, which gives him such a cute little face along with his boot button eyes. He stands 18" tall and has bright gold short bristle mohair, rather faded on his front side, still pretty vibrant on his back side. He is fully jointed and is firmly stuffed with excelsior. He has a part time growler, only will talk to you once in awhile. His original paw pads are felt with no holes. His mohair coat has much thinning throughout his front side and very good in back. This is Goober. Goober is most surely a German Petz, made in the 1930's. He has such beautiful long tipped mohair, darker tipped on the ends. He likes to float around in the pool with ducky, whom he talks to all the time. Yes, Goober has a wonderful working growler. He measures 18" tall and I love his adorable upturned snout. His cute expression is black floss with glass eyes and he is fully jointed. His pads are all original felt, with thinning or holes in all four. His mohair is in very good condition with just a little thinning around his forehead and one large and one small spot on his tummy. Otherwise, mohair is very full.

Hermy is an antique teddy bear made by the German company Hermann. He's a big fellow, a whopping 27". He feels so proud sitting in regular children's furniture as he fits so well in high chairs and rockers. He is made from light beige mohair with an inset mohair snout, typical of Hermann bears. He is fully jointed and has large glass eyes and floss embroidered features. He is missing his floss mouth, gives him a rather pouty face, he's a very quiet bear. He has linen paw and feet pads, with holes in all four, some large enough to show the excelsior stuffing, which he is stuffed with throughout. 'Maximus' is a grand looking Steiff teddy bear on wheels. His birth date is somewhere between 1926-1928 and he still retains his 'ff' button with long trailing 'f'. He likes to be pulled along on his red wood wheels with cast iron frame. He rolls freely on his wheels, although one wheel is a tad bent and doesn't lay quite flat. He measures 11" long and stands 9" tall. He is covered with beige mohair, retaining about 75%, and has 2 holes on his rear leg and one under his mouth, mouth is actually missing. 'MOUSER' VINTAGE MOHAIR TEDDY BEAR
'Mouser' is just a little guy, measuring 11" tall. He got his name 'Mouser' because of his mouse like ears, love those big huge ears. His arms are up in the air as if to say "Yeah". He stays in this happy position as he's not jointed. He has a cute little smirky expression with a felt and embroidered nose and mouth and big glass eyes. His mohair is pretty good on his front side with about 90% coverage, thinning at his seams and nose. His back side has much more loss, retains about 60% mohair. 'MR. PETELHOFFER' ANTIQUE FRENCH TEDDY BEAR
'Mr. Petelhoffer' is a fantastic French antique teddy bear, dating to the 1930's. He has gorgeous gold mohair with very little mohair loss, basically just a little thinning here and there. He's a full, stocky 22" bear filled with excelsior. His paw pads are all original with no holes, however, thinning down to the linen. I can't quite figure out the paw pad material...it's like between felt and suede, a reddish brown color. He has clear glass eyes and black floss stitching on his nose and cute little mouth, also claw stitching. Mr. Petelhoffer likes to play outside...he has soiling on his feet and the sun worshipper he is has faded his beautiful gold mohair. He's quite the grand looking boy.

'PEEPERS' ANTIQUE GERMAN PETZ TEDDY BEAR
Peepers has such a sweet little face, I love his smile. Peepers is a German Petz teddy bear, probably dating to the 1910's, maybe 20's. He's a 12" bear and has light cinnamon mohair. His little ears are so cute the way they're a little offset into his head. His charming face was created with black floss nose and smile and boot button eyes, eyes replaced, but correct for his age. He has original felt pads, holes in 3, black floss claws and excelsior stuffed. His head is a little wobbly, but it makes for a nice tilt. Mohair coverage is pretty good with bare spots on his chest, nose, chin and ears. He sits upon his honey can which is almost as big as he is...hope he doesn't fall in! (Can not included)
