Detailed Description
This little monkey is actually a little powder compact and mirror. Take off the monkey's head and the monkey's body opens up to reveal a powder compact and mirror. Schuco, a German company, made these little treasures in the 1920's or 30's. The monkey is covered in mohair with a metal face. I think the metal face had some kind of covering or paint, partial missing now. His arms and legs are jointed and his little hands and feet have felt over metal, also felt ears. They came in different colors, this one is pink, although it is quite faded now. There is loss of mohair and one foot is missing its felt, and one arm is rather loose. He's just 3 1/2" tall, small enough to fit in a bears purse for that emergency nose powdering.
